Champagne of the Month, December 2019: Champagne Bruno Paillard

December. It got around here fast in my opinion. It’s already holiday time and it is also my birthday month. It’s been a whirlwind these past few weeks and I plan to take the day off and take care of me. I haven’t figured out the book I plan to read, but I do know the champagne I will be drinking. It’s going to be from Champagne Bruno Paillard.

Bruno Paillard champagnes are made with the growers in mind. This means they care about the family where they get the grapes, what's going on in the soil (no icky stuff for them), and how you can drink them now or age them for later. Although the latter is very hard with these champagnes.

In 2007, Bruno’s daughter Alice joined the family adventure and is co-manager of the house. In April, I was fortunate to taste with Alice in Reims, France. It is always great to taste wines with the family because I believe I learn more than just tasting on my own. Although, I will enjoy my own company next week celebrating my born day, I won’t be alone. Champagne Bruno Paillard always feels like family.
