The one thing about Instagram I love is finding all the beauty girls. I fell hard for Sarah James of Whoorl years ago. My friend Erika put me on to her. She was then living in California, but now in Oklahoma City so in my mind she’s so close to Texas which makes her a Southern girl to me. Over the past few years, Whoorl has been focusing on greening her beauty routine. She posted a quick video on Instagram regarding her love of Bite Beauty and their Matte Lip Crayons.

Bite Beauty has really clean ingredients and I was intrigued by the staying power of the product. Well, I’m going to say that I was entrenched in the red color she was applying. I went to her website to see the full video and I was hooked. The one thing I’ve learned over the course of the past few months is that all green beauty is not the same. Most products really don’t look good on African-American skin. The ashy factor is real. This product looked beautiful on Sarah and me.

I was hesitant to take the matte lip route again. The last time I tried matte lips my lips hated it. I swear it made my lips snap, crackle, and pop. Seriously. They were hideous even when I scrubbed them. I realized something in the lipsticks were not working with my chemistry, but I love the pop of colors. I was torn. Buy and return or buy and be happy. I was headed to go out of town but only wanted to take one bright lip color. I headed straight to Sephora to test them. After one full stripe I was hooked, but I still needed to wear the lip color. I decided to take the beauty leap of faith and purchased the lip crayon in Fraise.

Girl. Girl. I’m hooked. I’ve tried Bite Beauty products before, but these lip crayons are a true game changer. I went three straight days wearing the gorgeous red Fraise and not once did my lips peel or crack. I have been happy and loving all the colors that work wonders on my lips: Framboise (Hot Pink) and Aubergine (deep mahogany). I can’t contain my excitement that I had to let y’all know. They are that good.
