Wine & Words: Root Cause by Steven Laine

Root Cause by Steven Laine

Summer is one of my favorite seasons. I don’t mind the heat, but summer brings one of my favorite things to do: read. I like books of all genres and when it was brought to my attention about a wine mystery/thriller I was like “PLEASE SEND ME A COPY.” Root Cause by Steven Laine was worth staying up way past my bedtime.

This book takes places in vineyards around the world and it has history, mystery, and just enough fun to make it hard to put down. I suggestion pairing it with wine of course. This book asks the question,

“Imagine a world without wine?”

Well, I know this is NOT a world I want to live in. I highly recommend this book even if you don’t drink wine because it will official get your heart racing and it’s the perfect start to my summer reading.

I paired this book with Donnafugata’s 2017 Bell’Assai Vittoria Doc Frappato from Sicily. I mean if I am going to read an international caper I need to be drinking an international wine. It was a really good combination. If you are still going back and forth on what to read this summer I highly recommend this book.

What’s on your book list this summer?
